Decentralization of Environmental Policy October 5, 2009

I am doing some thinking right now on the US environmental policy. The tenth ammendment of the constitution states that “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” As the constitution does not say anything about environmental policy, it follows that that it should be left to the states or to the people. This however is not what we see. I conclude therefore that the current environmental policy of the United States is illegal, and should be decentralized and left to the states. More on this later.
